COS or EXTN better?

pl calrify-

my husband's (F1)opt starts from june09 and my B2 I-94 (6m) expires in jun09. If I want to stay further atleast for 6 more months,

1. is it better to apply for a COS and if so to which one (?F2) because I'm eligible as his dependant. Can show adequate finances.
2.or is it better to apply for an extension of B2 requesting 6 m since I already possess a B2 visa.
In any case If I dont hear by my I 94 date i dont want to over stay as i dont want to lose my 10 y M B2. (I always visited only on B2 earlier due to compulsive commitments at home country and couldn't stay on here. )
3.Is it too late to apply now in 1st wk of Mar09 since they say it takes min 3 months. Has any one heard of approvals/denials in similar cases and what time? Thanks.

Apply for F2 as that is the appropriate visa category for you.

B extension is difficult an not recommended in your case.

Dont change status from B to F2 being in US. Return to home country and apply for F2.

I see your point. but I already filed as I said COS F2 !
I'm taking a chance in getting an approval/denial from here, for the sheer convenience of it that I am already here and I'm interested in 6 m only. If I've to go back the purpose is lost ,it may be difficult for me to return sooner again.Tho' there may be a better chances of getting an F2 visa my ability to use it is a ?
