  • parents and sister got visa

    My Father(57), Mother(48) and sister(24) who's doing her masters in India, got visa approved on 29th March at Chennai. My parents got 10 yr Multiple entry whereas my sister got 6 months visa.

    The interview was very brief. The questions asked were:

    To my father:

    How many children do you have?
    What do you do?
    Where does your son-in-law work?

    To my mother(housewife):

    What are your responsibilities at home?
    How do you spend time at home?

    To my sister(student):

    What is the name of your institute?
    Where is it located?
    What are you studying there?
    What are your future plans?

    Thanks to Immihelp team for all the info. It helped us a lot.

    Visitors Visa

    Did your parents and sister take notorized personal affidavits with them? Also, apart from student certificate( that you had mentioned in the other thread!), did your sister take any other document or did she show any other ties to India? Thanks for the details.

      Visitors Visa

      Yes they had taken separate notarized personal affidavit for each.

      Nope. My sister only took the student cert and her id.

      They didnt ask for any paers.

      Best of luck to you.

        Personal affidavit

        What should the notarized personal affidavit contain? Is it the letter to show family and financial ties in India?

          Personal affidavit

          Yes. The affidavit basically states the strong ties in India and reason why you would be coming back. There are sample affidavits on the immihelp website.

            Supporting documents

            Did your parents take supportig documents like properties etc.? If they did, did they submit it with the vias application form/passports etc. or they just showed them to consul officer at interview time? I am really not sure at what stage you submit these additional documents to prove ties to India.
