where to submit documents inside Mumbai consulate?

Hi,

My parents and sister have a 11 AM appointment at the Mumbai consulate next week. We are not very clear about the process inside the consulate. I believe when they enter the consulate, they need to submit the passport and the fees. Should they submit all supporting documents along with the passport or give only when the consular officer asks? We read other experiences here that sometimes the consular officer doesn't ask or refuses to look at documents.

Any info from people who have been to the Mumbai consulate (and immihelp administrator) will be very helpful.

I think for Mumbai Consulate, you pay fees at the VFS. If you already got an online appointment for the interview, you need to send VFS your application plus draft(and the list of document mentioned in the visa-services website), by bluedart.

As far as I know the applicants do not pay fees on the day of the interview( immihelp, pls confirm).

Accr to my parents, the consulate people ask you what they need at counter 1. At that time you can also ask for translators and tell them if you want to give them some extra docs. Rest the visa officer may/may not ask during the interview. The visa- services website is quite informative.

You don't have to submit all the documents at counter 1. Just give what is asked.
Show supporting documents only at the time of interview if officer asks for something.

Area inside the consulate is not very big and there is no way to get lost. Just follow the line.
