  • Sister's visa rejected at Chennai

My sister's visa was rejected under 214(B) on Mar 4th.
We had sent all the documents meticulously. She is working and showed her employment letter, property papers, her sons (2 of them) employment letter and her husband's employment letter. She was asked basic questions and how much she and her husband makes. And then was told that she is not qualified!?!? yeah, right!

Is there any hope if she applies again? There will not be any change in any of the documents/situation..

I think it was her age, she is 42 and may be pursued as possible immigrant..

    thanks for your input

      Sister's Visa Rejected at Chennai

      Dear Immihelp,
Does it mean that no visitor visa has been issued to younger people in the last few years. Is there a way to get this information from INS here? Also, is Tourism advised only to OLD people in US

      Thanks

Re: Sister's Visa Rejected at Chennai

It is not true that no young person travels to US, but it is much more difficult to prove that they are not potential immigrant.

Consular officers are required to assume that anyone who applies for any visa is assumed to potential immigrant, unless proved otherwise.
