Invitee with I 797 Approval Notice

Hi ,

My spouse is here on a L1 visa. Recently he received the I 797 Approval Notice and have sent our passports for visa stamping.

Is it still possible to sponsor for a visitor with a copy of I 797 Approval notice ?
