  • Query reg Visitor Visa Extn.

    Hi All,
I would like to extend the visitor visa for my parents for abt 2 months. Their I-94 expires in June end. They would like to stay till Aug end.
I just have one question. In immihelp site, under documents required to be sent to USCIS, its mentioned that a copy of the return air tickets has to be sent.

Does that mean I have to re-book the tickets to a date in Aug and send the copy to USCIS while filing for extension? Ideally I dont want to do this because incase the extension is rejected, I have to change the tickets again

Pls advice if its a good idea to modify the ticket before the approval of extn.
Also if anyone has got the extension without the re-booking the ticket, pls respond

    Thanks,
    Mina

You will have to change the ticket date before filing extension.

If it is rejected, you will have to change the date again.

Otherwise, there is a high chance of you getting the rejection anyway.

      Thanks for the quick response.
Just an additional query. I just noticed the I539 processing for my state is backed up by 3 months. So its possible that before we get the answer from USCIS, my parents would have left the country.
Pls advice on what to do
      1. If they have been approved but have left the country
      2. If they have been denied but have left the country. And will it affect a revisit to the country

      Thanks in advance

        Hi All,
Does anyone have any answers. Also I heard that if the visa extension is denied the multi entry visa itself is voided..Its that true?

        Pls help with answers

          1. Good.
          2. If they have left the country before the denial, that is fine. If they have left the country after the denial, and past the original I-94 date, the visa is void.
