  • Father's name spelled differently in my and his passport

    Hi,

I would be very thankful if someone could answer the below questions

I am planning to sponsor visitor visa for my parents.

    1) First problem is,my Father's name is spelled differently in His and my passport.

So will there be a problem in proving that he is my father and can it be a reason for visa rejection?

If yes, WHat is the best solution for this? is it to change my father's name in his passport (Given name column) as its been spelled in my passport? ( My father says since its just the spelling problem, he can change his name by getting an affidavit and reapply for passport)

    2) Both my parents doesnt have anything mentioned in their Sur Name column. Will it be a problem to get the Visa?

    Thanks a ton!

    Regards
    Santhosh

This should not be a problem. Is it a small spelling difference or a completely different name? For small spelling difference if they ask, your father can answer that it is written the same way in native script but may be spelled differently in English.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
