  • Urgent Help please help

    Hello,
My husband is on H1b and residing in usa. I am on h4 and my son in on tourist B2 visa. He is only 6 months old. I have been staying in usa for 8 years now. Currently I am in India with my son. I went to buy ticket for us when i was told by the agent that i cannot buy:
    1) one way ticket for infant son as he is holding B2 tourist visa. They told me that i would be stopped by the Indian immigration.

    2) i cannot buy one way ticket for myself either as infant ticket is associated with the adult.

Please advice that Inidan immigration can stop me for buying one way ticket to USA for my son or for myself...

    Urgent.. please advice

Why not get a H4 visa for your son too?

I am surprised a travel agent knows what s/he is talking about. B2 is for temporary visit and if the infant needs to stay with you, a H4 visa is appropriate.

I dont know if thats right about Indian Immigration stopping you if you have a one way ticket on B2 visa. But yes, it was surprising for a travel agent to say this and turn you away when usually all they will care is about their share of money.

She can always try some other travel agents who can oblige her.

It is not a matter of travel agent obliging. TA has nothing to lose. They can very well issue a ticket without any problem. They were in fact giving a good suggestion as POE could deny entry for a mother on H4 and a baby on B2 thereby denying entry for both.

They should get a H4 for the baby.
