  • B2 visa for parents - but my visa is expiring

    Hi,
I am in a real tricky situation.
I wanted to apply for a visitor's visa for my parents who are both retired. My H1B visa is expiring in September 2009, but I have filed for my extension and I have the receipt notice for the petition. I would like to bring my parents around July, as we are expecting a baby around that time.

Could you please advice me if it is OK to apply for their visa at this time?
Should you book the air-ticket before appearing for the interview?

    Thanks in advance.
    Georgie

      Thanks for the reply.

Could you also let me know if we have to book the air ticket before appearing for the interview?

No. With all the non-refundable airfares and huge cancellation fee, it is never a great idea and the same can be the answer to the VO if asked.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
