  • Parents Visa Rejected_Please Help

    Hi there,

My parents went on visa in January 2009 and got rejected. I am on H1B and I have an elder sister in India.
I did my MS here in December 2007 but I was not able to take graduation walk in 2008 May. My school does graduation ceremony once a year. So I was planning to attend ceremony in 2009 May. My school got invitation letter to my parents.
    With this they took appointment.
    So Interview was :-
VO : Why you want to go to USA
Father : To visit my daughter and attend her convocation.
    VO : What she does?
Father : She is on H1B and working for YYYY (My company's name)
VO : How come she has graduation now?
Father : She was not able to attend graduation last year because she was admit in hospital. She had accident.
    VO : What you do?
Father : I am retired from YYY company after working for 35 years and now for passing time I work in a small coaching class.
VO : How much you earn?
Father : As this is just for passing time I earn 1.50 lakh per yer.
VO : To my mother : Have you travelled abroad before?
    Mother : No.
VO : Sorry I can not issue you visa.
Mother : We have invitation letter from her school and we really wish to attend her ceremony.
VO : Sorry. We are not allowed to see any letter.
    Here is your passport.

I am not able to understand what went wrong.
    They told all truth.

I am planning to take date for them somewhere in July.

    How should I plan now?
Your guidance will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a lot,
    -R

    Thanks Smohanti

    Thanks Smohanti.
So next time when I would apply, lets say in January 2010... what should they tell the cause of first rejection?
Will it be better if my mom goes first and then my dad?
Should they say that he is retired and thats it... without telling about work he is doing right now?
I was not able to see code of rejection I mean 214 etc on passport. Is it on passport or somewhere else?

    Please let me know,
    Thanks a lot,
    -R
