Visitor I-94 stamp

Hey,

My parents visited me this month ,i booked the return ticket on sep12th that is 3months after their entry date.

The immigration stamp on I-94 card says sep 15.
Do they have to leave the country before sep 15?cant they stay for another 3 months as 6months is the limit to stay on visitor visa.

Please advise
