I am sponsoring my in-laws for a visitors visa. They had appeared for an interview in June 16 at the US Consulate in Chennai. The consular officer had asked them to basically wait for admin processing and gave them the pink slip. They were also told that they would hear from them in 2-3 weeks. Does anybody in the forum know of a similar case? If so was this case approved (I know it is on a case-by-case basis). It would be helpful if you can let me know the timeline as well.
