  • MIL Visitor Visa 221(g) - addl document requested: child care plan??

    Hello,

My mother-in-law went for visitor visa interview on 7-july-2009 at US Chennai consulate. I had mentioned that my wife and I are expecting (duhhh). The VO has asked me to submit a child care plan for 18 months to prove my MIL wouldn't be babysitting while she is here. He gave her the 221(g) with this request.

Now I am not quite sure what to state in this document. Any idea on what to include in this child care plan letter?

The consulate officer kept forms DS 156 and 157 and returned her passport.

    Please help.

    Thanks,

I would think you can mention who you would be using for child care in terms of a local day care center or a nanny. If your wife stays home, that can be mentioned as well. Mention about any HCRA/DCRA that employer provides. Provide child care research that you have done from your local area and that they have openings available from XYZ date for your child.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Thanks for the suggestion. My MIL submitted the Child care plan with 221g last week. She received her passport with visa yesterday.

all I wrote in the child care plan was point out that my wife is in H4. and some options about local child care centers.
