  • L1 work visa with H1 visa

I have a query: I already have H1B visa sponsored by a company A. This was issued last year. However, the company A is not anymore interested in hiring me their US office because of economic recession. But now there is another company B that is interested to send me to the US but on L1B visa.

I want to know if I go to the US on L1B visa, will my H1B visa still remain valid ?

    Thanks
    -Satish B.

Why not ask company B to transfer the H1b and enter on H1b which allows for greater flexibility?

H1b visa could be marked CWOP by the VO as both are work visas. That does not mean you cannot use the H1b again. You could with another employer but if the visa is cancelled, you need to get it restamped. Read the FAQs.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Thanks for the response. Since company B is not ready to do H1 visa transfer, I will need to consider L1 only from company B. I want to know further - in case my H1 gets cancelled, will I need to do just re-stamping for availing H1 or fresh petition for H1 visa needs to be filed ?
