Visitor VIsa Duration

Hi,

My parents received their passports yesterday and the visitor visa duration is one year. I have read mostly people will have multiple entry visa for 3 or 5 or 10 years. Is it a new policy to give one year visa? Are their chances of getting longer duration next time they go. This is a hassle to go to embassy every time they have to come here.

Any experiences/ thoughts.....

It really depends how long visa people would get. It could be anything, 6 months, 1 year, 5 or 10 years.
