My mother and brother plan to visit me in the US shortly, and the situation is a bit complicated. Can the forum members advise?

I appreciate your help. Thanks much.

    1. Though I am gainfully employed as a professor, and have a green card, I only have $5K bank balance. Can I sponsor both of them?

    2. My mother will travel Oct-Mar; and my brother for 15 days in Dec. Is it too early for my brother to go for visa?

    3. Another option is, I could sponsor my mother; and my brother can support himself during the visit. He has enough bank balance. But both of them will be staying with me. In this case, do I still use the forms I-134 (affidavit of support) for both of them? Do I specifically mention what I intend to contribute on the form?

    4. In case of '3' above, is it better that they go on different days in different consulates (they live in different cities)?

Option #3 seems like the best option considering your bank balance.

No I-134 needed for your brother if he is to sponsor himself.

    Take appointments separately.

Your brother could apply for a visa a couple of months after your mother since he is planning to come later.

If they live in different cities they must go to different consulates.

      Thanks for the response.

      Another question:

My brother has an Indian passport with permanent address in Tamil Nadu, but is a PR of Singapore, and he works and lives in New Delhi temporarily. Can he apply at the US consulate in New Delhi, instead of Madras?

      Thanks again.
