getting a US Visitor Visa When H1B is still valid

Hello

I have moved to Canada as a landed immigrant in January this year. My H1B is still valid until october 10 2009 but I have taken an appointment for the US tourist (B2) visa for August 2009. Will there be a problem in getting a US tourist visa as my H1B visa is still valid?

Do I need to wait for my H1B to expire before applying for the US tourist visa.
