Has anybody else been in the same situation as me ? Any experiences or tips anyone want to share. I'm planning to apply visitor visa at US consulate New Delhi, India for my father, mother & younger sister. They want to attend my marriage here in US in coming October. Me & my wife (we are already legally married) are going to sponsor them. Please share any suggestions or things that I should be taking care of so that I can make sure they attend my marriage. Thanks in advance.

Your family may find themselves asked tough questions by the visa officer because of you - a visitor who had immigrant intent and became one.
Won't it be fun for your family to come up with an explanation as to what the point is to have a religious ceremony in October 2009 when you married in December 2008 - ten months later? Why should the consulate not think that this ceremony is just an excuse to bring your family to the US?
Why should the visa officer believe your parents or sister when they say they have no short/long term intent to immigrate?
After all, you had told the consulate the same thing but that turned out to be far from the truth, right?
I went through the history of your posts and it is obvious reading them that you came here with the intent to settle here.
Frankly, it is because of people like you that countless others (you can read their stories on this site) have to go through difficult visa interviews and have to go through hell and high water to prove their non-immigrant intent.Last edited by smohanty; 07-26-2009, 09:17 AM.
