B2 visa for spouse

I recently got my H1 transferred to another company. My wife is in India and would like to get her to the US. Since H4 is a bit risky - can I get her on a B2 visa ?

anyone had this experience - what kind of questions get asked and is it safe.

Why B2? Why not H4? Why is H4 risky???

Reason for B2

Because there was a gap in my payslips for a few months and I had taken medical leave with my employer.

Most probably her B2 application will be rejected after they see that you - her husband is working on H1 in the US. H4 is the right visa category for the purpose of her travel to US - stick to that to avoid further problems.
