No Surname

Hello,
I am Santhosh, an Indian Citizen, currently in Germany for my Masters. I am planning to visit my Relatives in the USA and so I wanted to apply for a B2 Visa from Munich(Germany).

My Name(as mentioned in my passport) is
Surname : ___________
Given Names : SANTHOSH KUMAR

According to the DS156 form, my Surname has to be filled.
Could you please tell me as to which one of the following is correct ?

1.
Surname : KUMAR
First and Middle Names : SANTHOSH

2.
Surname : SANTHOSH KUMAR
First and Middle Names : FNU

Is option 1 completely ruled out cause I have filled my DS156 online form following option 1 and I am not able to modify my details on the online form.

Also, I have booked my flight tickets with Santhosh as the first name and Kumar as the last.
Will there be any problem with that?

It is upto the VO to make you change it and upon the airline agent that you get at the airport.

Is it possible that the Visa Officer asks me to change it then and there (on the DS156 Form) during the Interview
or
Will he reject my current Visa Application and ask me to re-apply with the correct form of name???

They will ask you to change it and not deny it. You need to show strong ties to home country to qualify for a visa.

I am applying Visa from Germany. I am doing my Masters here and I will have to come back here to complete the course. This is a good enough reason, isn't it?

These are bad reasons as these are liabilities, not assets which makes a person come back.

I thought getting back for studies to Germany is a good enough reason & there have been a few ppl who have got visa based on these reasons

If these are not good enough then what else do you think are good enough reasons???
