An indian senior citizen, who is in UK plans to visit US

My father, who is in his late sixties is currently in UK on a visitor's visa. He left India without a visa for US. Wondering if he could obtain the visitor's visa from the US embassy in the UK? Has anyone tried this before?

No, you can't do that. You have to get visa from India for US, if you are in UK on visitors visa or student visa.

I know of many people who tried earlier were asked to get it from India.
