Sponsoring parents or applying visa on their own - Which one is better?

My Father has visited the US twice before for official purposes. He has been employed in Saudi Arabia for about 30 years and has substantial assets and properties in India. My mother is a house wife. Would it be better if I sponsor my parents or my Father and mother apply on their own? The issue I have with me sponsoring is that I may not be able to show a very good financial statement ( a present balance of $5000 and a total deposit for last year of about $60000). Given my financial background, which would be the better chance of getting a visa- I sponsoring them or they apply for visa on their own?

Self-sponsor is a better option in this case.
