I-134 and J1

Hi everyone,

I just joined this forum. I am a J1 visa holder and would like to invite
my parents here. Do I need to fill up the affidavit form(I-134)? Someone told me that this form is to be filled only by H1 visa holder.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks immihelp. Then I have got a question re. filling up this form. It's question no. 1 ; option 'd' is the correct choice for me, since I have got a valid DS-2019 form. I don't understand what the ''A'' number stands for in that option.

If you have ever applied for employement authorization, you have A number, else you don't have it.

Thanks immihelp. But I am on J1, I have a valid DS-2019 form and it does not require for me to get an employment authorization. So how should I answer question no. 1 then?

Don't use any of the options A through D.
Just find little space below that and write that you are on J1.

Great! thanks immihelp! What sort of documents should I send for
their accommodation? We live in an apartment; so should I send a copy of apartment lease/telephone bills/electrcity bills? Which one will be better?

Don't need to send papers for accomodation. Just write in I-134 that you will provide accomodation.
