W2 document for visitor visa

Hi,

I came on H1 last year to NJ in Feb month and due to some reasons I got delayed in getting project and I have w2 for last year for the period I worked in last year and Now I am applying Visitor visa for my mom

As I need to submit w2 form, I have a question, is it mandatory to have 3 years of w2 form as per site details regarding w2form.

As I am having only one w2 form of last year, is it possible for me to apply for visitor visa or not and also if the w2 amount is less as it is not for the whole year, would there be any issue.

Your out of status period is a problem for you in the future as your W2 amount is less than what it should be. The visitor visa is a different issue and the more ties one shows to home country, the likelihood of approval goes up.

If you have not been here 3 years, how can you have W2s? The 3 year one for for someone that has been here for more than that. And again, nothing is a requirement, it is a good to have.

On H1b, you need to get paid all the time. Project or not, employer MUST pay you. That is the law!

Thank you very much for your reply and I truly appreciate that. As you said that it would be problem in future as my W2 amount is less than the amount it should be. what that exactly mean, can you be more elaborative on that matter like at what time there could be a problem in future(i.e at the time of extension)
