My parents have submitted their application in the Mumbai consulate in the first week of June (Blue Dart confirmed delivery around the 4th of June). They have been told that they will be called either at the home number or at the work number provided in the application form to inform them of their appointment date/time. Today is the 22nd of June and they are yet to get a date. Everytime they enquire they are told that their papers :rolleyes have yet to come to VFS. My questions is: has someone else heard of the same experience? I hear about choosing an appointment date on the internet. Is this available for the Mumbai consulate as well? By when can they expect an appointment date?
Also, is there a possibility that they might get the visa stamped instead of being called for an interview (if the papers are to the consulate's satisfaction. We believe all our paperwork is in order and there is no reason for them to refuse the visa)
