  • Question about Affidavit? Please help!! Urgent!!!

    Hi There!
My parent will be going for visa in Aug 1st week, my dad is 60 and Mom is 59.
Both of them are retired from Govt jobs.
They will be visiting us in Oct sometimes.
Me and my brother are here in states, I got married 3.5 years back and came here in 2000 Oct in H1B and Now I've green Card, My brother came here last year on H1b and Got married this year Feb, lives in NJ with his wife .

    Here is a question !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????

Me an My husband are working and sponsoring my parents, so do we need to mention about my brother in Parent’s Affidavit about visiting here? Its really confusing!, if they don’t mention and later consulate questions about why brother not sponsoring them and bla bla..then can be a problem?

Please help, how to deal with this.

    Thanks.
    Anita

re :Question about Affidavit? Please help!! Urgent!!!

Its always better to give the true information.
Even I was in the same situation last month cause we both siblings are in US, and we did mention it in the Affidavit as well as in the DS-156 about us. And guess what my parents got 10yrs multiple visa without any problem.

      I-134

I agree with fer. The more honest you come across the better your chances are to get the visa.

      Good luck!

          I-134

Just tell them that you have been in the US 3 years longer than your brother and that you have a green card. So, you find it more comfortable to sponspor your parents rather than your brother.

            visa rejected for same case

In my case, my in-laws visa got rejected...

            Following were the questions asked

            1) Where is your son-in-law in US?

            2) What are you doing (to my FIL) ?

            3) How many childrens u have ?
            2, son and daughter

            4) where is u r son ?
He is Doing MS in YYYY University

Then told sorry, your not qualified for Visa and gave 214(b) letter

we ddidn't mentioned about son in DS 156

I am assuming, visa got rejected, because both son and daughter are in USA...

How about waiting until mom is 60?

If your mom is going to be 60 soon, then waiting until then and using the drop-box after that would be a safe bet. They don't have to go through the hassle of going to the consulate in person.

Ok, I was talking abt personal interview Vs Drop-Box

Regarding I-134 from your brother, you should try to be as honest as possible.

It is better to get it from your brother too. If there is a problem in getting I-134 from your brother, then your parents should be prepared to convince them why he did not give affidavit.

You mean to say, my brother should also get I134 and get it notarized for each parent.
