  • One parent using dropbox, the other going for interview

My parents were planning to apply together through the dropbox. My Father is 60 and wheelchair bound and my mother is 57. When they went to the TTS office in Hyderabad they were told that only my father can use the dropbox and their options were to go to chennai together or let my father use the dropbox. Because of my father's handicap, they decided to use the dropbox for his application. They had to sort out the papers however, since the letter of invitation was addressed to them together. In the process, they missed taking out the Affidavit of Support for my mother. Now I'm seriously concerned that the extra affidavit of support will raise their suspicions. Other than this, I think our paperwork has everything they would require. I'm just hoping they wont reject my dad's visa. At this point I wouldnt mind if they called him for an interview. Just dont want his visa to be rejected via the dropbox.
Any thoughts or anyone in the same situation, where one parent used the dropbox and the other went for the personal interview?

It is subjective and difficult to say what exactly will happen. Hope for the best and post your experience here once you are through.

      They won't normally reject

If they have questions on the drop-box application (about the additional I-134 in your case) , they will not reject the visa. They would like to talk to your father to get it clarified.

The worst case scenario, in my guess, is they will return the application back to your home and ask your father to come for a personal interview. Don't worry too much about it. There is nothing much you can do now.
