Visitor visa for father -- widower

Hello friends,
I am in the process of sending documents to sponsor my father's visitor visa. He lives in Bombay and is a widower. He used to be a businessman and is retired now. He owns real estate in Bombay and has a elder brother who is totally dependent upon him.

I would appreciate any advice that you guys have so that he has a good chance to getting the visa. Is it a good idea to prepare a seperate affadavit explaining his ties back home in India?

I would appreciate your inputs or suggestions...
