  • Need help please...need to go see the doctors...URGENT!!

Hi, I'm a Thai citizen. Recently I traveled to the US to visit my friends and family. I stayed for 6 months. (I got a 10 year tourist visa) Here's the thing, I've been suffering because the blood vessels in my right eyes keep breaking. The bleeding keeps ruining my right eye's vision. So my friend who just move to Washington DC has made an appointment at the hospital for me(no insurance) to see if there is anything they can do to help. Can I go there as soon as I can? I have my medical record..will the IO need to see it? I also have a note from my doctor. My parents will pay for the treatment. I just got back to Thailand in OCT 07. Can I got see the doctor in the US around Dedember? I'll stay only one week. I'm not intending to stay longer than that. Just wanna see if there is anything the doctors there can do to help. Can you please tell me if the IO will let me in? Will they think I intend to stay in the US because I re-enter too soon? Help please... And one more question...if I got denied or sent back home..will my visa get terminated or is it still good and I can come back again later on?

    shouldn't be any issues !

guess you could go and come back as many times as you wish during the visa validity , the stay on an instance should not exceed 6 months ..

      Thank you for ur answer

So do I need to take the doctor's note with? And do I need a proove that I already made an appointment with the hospital? If so, I'll have my friend send me all the details so I can show the IO.

And my friend got a question. She spent 6 months in the US. She just got home on OCT 20 but she wants to go back to celebrate Christmas with her friend. That friend of hers wrote her an invitation letter too to assure the IO that she will take care of her during the time she's in the US. Will the IO let her in? Do they need any other proove like a phone number of that friend who wrote the invitation letter? Will there be any problems?

But just in case, if they dont approve me, will my visa get terminated right there right then? Cause I heard some people got their visas terminated cause they got denied

Now I am not an ophthalmologist just as I am not an immigration lawyer.

However, a quick check of your symptoms on Google tells me that your eye problem is NOT generally considered as being serious. You can confirm that yourself if you check online.

So before you buy your ticket contact the DC ophthalmologist with whom the appointment has been taken and EXPLAIN your visa situation over email/fax/phone.

Then fax him/her your case history - symptoms, diagnosis, prescriptions from MULTIPLE doctors in your home country etc with necessary pics or video of the eye to him/her as early as possible.

Ask him for an opinion on whether the doctors in your home country have made the right diagnosis and whether it is worth taking a trip to the US for your condition.

Buy your tickets to the US ONLY if the DC doctor strongly believes that the diagnosis/prescription of doctors in your home country could be wrong and if he strongly believes that it is a good idea to get it checked out in the US.

Ask him to give you that in writing and carry the letter with you to show to the Immigration Officer. Carry that letter with you along with a detailed medical file on the problem and reports from multiple ophthalmologists in your home country and show them all to the IO. Be prepared for serious questioning.

Your friend's excuse to return to the US is utterly trivial. She needs to avoid returning to the US immediately or she will be asking for trouble.

Going back to the US on a visitor visa within two months of returning from a 6 month long trip is not a joke. The only way to avoid such immigration hassles is to work hard and get a student/work visa.
