Is B-2 visa valid in expired passport?

I have a B-2 visitors visa stamped in my passport. The passport will expire soon.
Is the visa still valid at a US port-of-entry, if used alongside a renewed passport?
I ask this because I am considering renewing my passport (a few months before its expiry) and, as soon as I do so, my old passport will automatically expire and I may not be eligible to obtain another B-2.
