DD for visa fees

Hi,

My parents are going to chennia from Hyderabad for visitor visa stamping.. can they take the DD's for application in hyderabad itself in any nationalised bank, or should they take in chennai only?? what about the fee of 400Rs. , can that be paid in cash??

Rs. 400 can be paid in cash or demand draft.

But in the documentation given my immihelp site for visitor visa it is mentioned ""Each applicant must make 2 demand drafts, payable to "American Consulate General, Chennai" and payable at Chennai: ""

what does it mean "payable at chennai" ??

is it not we need to take DDs only in chennai or we can take in hyderabad also??(sorry to ping you again.. more curious on this)

Curiosity kills the cat ?

just take DD's from a nationalised bank and you are all set, this is not where you should spend your time.
work on the forms/ support letters etc etc.

Payable at chennai is more a clearing function.

In hyderabad, I am sure the banks will know what you are looking for, better even just show them what the Consul wants.
