Visa of My Mom

Hi All

I am staying on H1B since last 2 months and planning to call my mom to US, my sister also stays in US for last 4 yrs. From the viewer experiences and recommendations it seems that my mom needs to convince that she will come back. Now problem is she is widow and we are only 2 kids and both are staying in US so I don't know how to convince counselor that she will come back to India. We have just 1 land as property and that too on my name. I am married and planning to call my wife on H4.

Another issue is I didn't mentioned that my sister also stays in US in my visa form just to aviod any other documentation

Please help what should I do now.

Just tell truth.

If your mother has any other income, such as interest income or anything else, show that.

Since you are in a non-immigrant status (H1B) , I think your mother has a good chance as the officer at the consulate does not have a strong reason to believe that she will overstay.

If the guy at the consulate is convinced that your mother does not depend on you for living and she has some strong (financial and social) ties back in India, then she will not have any problem.

Think of what you can provide as a proof of her strong ties back in India.

Visa of My Mom

Thanks for advise and wishing me good luck. Will there be any issues of myself not mentioning that my sister also stays in US in my visa form ?. Actually my visit to US was in hurry and company didn't wanted any delay due to any documentary obligation if I mention that my sister also stays in US.
