regarding travelling to US on visitor visa

my mom has an US visa and has not visited the US so far.

she intends to come in april for about 4-5 months. i.e., april-july 2010.

i would also like her to visit me for a month in december 2009-january 2010.

my question is will the visit this december have an impact on her trip in april.

Will the duration of stay when she visits in april get affected because of this.

I have heard people say that they might not give the full 6 months in April visit if she visits this December, is this true??

kindly let me know as i am trying to book tickets for her.

Your mother is expected to stay in her home country more than what she stayed in USA. If she visits USA frequently, she will be considered as a potential immigrant and may be given a restrcted stay of 3 months when she visits next in December.
Please try to avoid frequent visits and let her give sufficient gap between visits.
