  • B2 Visa - Reapplication

    Hi,

My parents have a 10-year multiple entry B2 visa which expires in Jul 2010. They have already visited the US once in 2007 and would like to visit again sometime in May-Jun 2010. Can they re-apply for a fresh B2 while the current one is still valid ? Or do they have to wait for it to expire before applying for a fresh one ?

How long does the visa have to be valid for them to visit me in the US ?

    Thanks,
    Nishant

They can enter USA till the last date of their current visitor visa. Their stay in USA depends on the date given in I 94.
On returning to home country, they may agin appear for a new visitor visa.
Kindly note this is not a legal advice.

Thanks ramabalaji ! As I understand, if they enter the USA with only 1-2 months left in their B2 validity, that will effect the I-94 date - is that correct ?

Also, w.r.t. to my first question, can they reapply while the existing visa is still valid for a few months ?

Visa validity has got nothing to do with the date on the I-94.
