Hi,

I have my fathers name as JOSEPH in all my documents including my birthcertificate and passport . i am a u.s citizen. and planning to bring my father to us on a visitor visa and later to apply for a green card . BUT my fathers real name is JOSE . he want to apply for A passport . how should he show the embassy that joseph and jose is the same person and he is my father . in which name he should take the passport .

He needs to apply the passport in the name of whatever his real name is.

If there is a discrepancy in the name in his passport and his name in your passport, he can prepare a notarized affidavit indicating that both names are the same.
