  • Visa Rejected - Chennai Consulate

    Hi,

I love this forum, I got lot of information here.

I am very sad, inspite of good preparation for visa interview questions my fathers visa got rejected. He is 73 yrs old and retired govt. servant. He just appeared today for the interview. The questions asked were:
    1. Why do you want to go to USA?
Ans. For tourism and to meet my son.

    2. How many sons do you have?
Ans. 2 sons. One is in texas, usa and younger son is in Satyam.

    3. Before retirement where did you work?
Ans. After my studies I joined defense services.

    4. You look very tired?
Ans. Yeah, I was waiting for quite some time until my turn for interview and also I travelled by Auto here.

Consular replies your visa is rejected!!!

    1. Now please somebody let me know what went wrong here. My father was really upset because the consular didn't even see a single document. I sent all the required documents as suggested in this forum. I showed more than suggested balance in my bank account.

    2. Do I need to prepare the documents again for the second interview?

    3. Also could anybody let me know how to get another appointment quickly. I could only see the dates are available for Jan of 2005. I would like to bring my dad in november this year. Please, any help is highly appreciated.

    thanks
    Ramesh

Probably because of question regarding 'being tired'. He might be thinking that if this person is tired by traveling in Auto short distance, how will be travel to US, such a long journey?

You don't need to send all the documents again.

There is no way to get appointment early.

Does anybody know about requesting the senator to send a letter to the consulate to assure that the person has the intentions of going back to india. If anybody has done please post your experience and how to go about doing this.
      Thanks much.

        sorry to know

visit www.senate.gov for contacting senator of your state.
I heard they do not give you any letters but might send a letter to consulate
        you are requesting visa yet.

All you can do is sending your father again with all the documents in Jan.
If possible talk to an attorney about filing family based green card(atleast good for long run).

This is what we are paying for(missing/loosing family), to stay in this country. Good luck.

Visa rejected - Urgent Pl help

          Hi,
My parents - both are above 65+ - visa was rejected!
They had earlier come to US. Got their stay extended by 6 months, so as to see the country. They Left US, 15 - 20 days, before the visa expired.
However, when they went to the interview, for the second time,
they were asked by the Consular Officer: why did you ask for an extension? To tha my Dad replied, "because my wife was sick" - Which was incorrect - actually they stayed so as to see the country! My impression is that the way questions were posed ,or the place had made him a little nervous, hence the incorrect reply.

My wife is pregnant, expecting the baby in December and we would like to have them here before that.
However, there are no slots available for interview at Chennai, before Jan 20th.
Can some one clarify the following:
          1) Can they get an interview scheduled quickly?
          2) What should my prarents say about the Previous extension?
          3) Applying for a 3-4 month will help?
          Please help.
          Regards,
          Sreeni
