Do I need a joint sponsor??

My husband & I both are US citizens.I want to call my parents here to visit me on Tourist Visa in Summer 2010.But my husbands salary is only $ 18k for 2009,coz his hours at work were reduced.I only make $6K per year working parttime.Can my husband still sponsor for my parents at low salary or do we need some joint sponsor?

If you have a lot of savings, you may not need another sponsor because savings can take care of their expenses.

Otherwise, you will need a joint sponsor.

Thanks a lot Immihelp for a quick answer.How much minimum savings would be sufficient to sponsor for 2 people(my parents)?Can a friend be our joint sponsor or does he have to be a relative only?

Any one can be a joint sponsor.

There is no fixed rule for the exact amount. Enough money to take care of the visitor's expenses.
