Visitor VISA - Sponsorship

Hi,

I am on L1 VISA about toexpire in May2010, but as bank balance is not sufficient ($5000/person) to sponser my parent's visitor visa. My brother-in-law is on H1 VISA and applied for extension of VISA, also his Green card is under processing. As his extension application is still under processing, so could he sponser my parents(his Parent in laws) for Visitor VISA.
If he can't sponser my parents, is there a way my parents can show that they are financial secure in INDIA to sponser their own trip.
Please let me know.

If your parents are really financially secure in India to self-sponsor, they can show that.

Otherwise, they can't really show that. In that case, your brother in law can sponsor them. As long as your BIL is in legal status at the time of sponsoring, it does not matter whether his extension is pending or his visa expiring soon.

Thanks for the help.
Based on your response I have following queries,
1. Incase my BIL sponsor my parents now (currently his H1 extension & Green card are pending), but by the time my parent's VISA interview date comes If the VISA extension application is rejected It would create a problem. Could you please suggest.

2. Also, what is the amount of property and income required for my parents so as to have them self sponsor their trip.

1. That really depends upon why it was rejected.
2. There is no fixed rule for that.
