    I am a us legal permanat resident. I want to send my 2 year old daughter to india with my mother in law. She is a us citizen

    do i have to provide an noc attested by indian consulate to the airline or any such procedures

    Due to the recent media blitz about children being taken away by non-custodial parents outside US and failing to return, it is always a good idea to provide a notorized affidavit by both parents authorizing the child to be taken overseas by the guardian to avoid trouble at the airport. Make sure you attach the birth certificate showing both parent names.

    It can be signed at a public notary. I am not aware of the Indian consulate doing anything special for this kind of situations.
