Suggestions regarding airlines, travel agents, medical insurance ...

I wanted information regarding

- which airlines to choose from, when flying from India (Mumbai) to US (SFO)
- should we go via travel agents or through the airline website directly?
- any tips for parents' medical insurance during their visit in the US. Are there any age limitations for them? Is it too expensive? Should they get it from India or should we buy it from within US?

1. & 2. Get to know the choices of airlines and prices for tickets from more than one travel agent in your city in India. I would say get prices from 1 or 2 large/well-known travel agencies and 1 or 2 smaller but dependable ones. Then pick one based on the price and your needs.

You can also ask acquaintances from your home city who have also visited here as to which travel agent they used.

3. You have a choice of using Indian or American companies when it comes to insurance. My in-laws used insurance that I bought insurance for them from this website. My parents bought their insurance in India and they had no problems with that either.

Do some research, ask acquaintances who visited about their insurance choices and experiences, get prices and choices for different kinds of insurance before you decide based on your family's special needs.
