Is age a factor in visa issuance?

My parents (75+ age) are planning to apply for a B2 visa for the first time. They are retired, own a home and my brother lives in India as well (separately). I've been in the US for 13 years (GC holder). I will be sponsoring them.

I have read through the site and am starting to prepare documents that my parents and I will need to collect. Are there any considerations that I should be aware of? Is age a known factor in visitor visa issuance? Should they provide any documents to satisfy family ties in India besides home ownership?
