MEDICAL VISA....skin cancer

I want to apply for medical visa. As i'm suffering from a skin cancer & want to undergo a surgery in the US which is not available here in India. My parents will accompany.
I want to know how many people are allowed to go alongwith the patient??? For my parents do i've to apply separately??? Is there any provision or they need visitors visa??? Please help...As 'm visiting US for the first time & having no idea about visa...
