visitor's visa for inlaws of a recent permanent resident

Hi,

I entered USA on J1 visa in 2006 and now became a permanent resident, I heard that this kind of conversion will affect my inlaw's visitor's visa as I am planning to sponsor them these. Also my inlaws can prove that they have strong ties with the home country India and they can sponsor themselves. Please tell me if there is any thing I can do to make their case stronger to get visitor's visa approval. I appreciate your response.

If they can sponsor themselves, it is best to do that.
