Help required Urgently

Hi,
I am sponsoring visitor visa for my mother in law. She got her passport two days back and found that there is a typo in the last name of her parents. One of them has last name as "Bhonsale" and second one "Bhonsle". I am not able to decide whether to get this corrected or not as it took 4 months to get the passport. I have following questions

1. Is the correction mandatory to get visa? Could it be a reason for not getting visa?

2. If it's not an issue for visa, will it cause any issues when she is flying. I read that due to mismatch in name on visa and passport, people were not allowed to board a flight.

3. If I have to get the correction done, typically how many days it takes with Bangalore passport office?

2. The issue happens when there is a problem with the person's own name.
3. Not sure about the timing.
