Query about Visitor (B2) VISA

Hi,

I was wondering if you could kindly help me out by providing a clarification for the following situation:

1. My parents (Dad and Mom) would like to visit USA on visitor (B2) VISA. For application procedure, do both of them need to fill-up DS-160 separately individually as "principal applicant"?

2. If the answer to the question 1 is "yes", then is it possible to have their interview together on the same day?
a. If "yes", then while scheduling the appointment, how that fact is supposed to be mentioned?
b. If "no", then can a separate appointment for my Mom be scheduled on the same day, similar time?

3. If the answer to the question 1 is "no", then can my Dad fill-up the information for my Mom as an accompanying family-member in the process of filling-up DS-160?
