DS-160 And Visa appointment

Hi,

Do I need to fill DS-160 form before taking visa appointment?
How long DS-160 form data will be stored? In other words, do I need to take appointment after filling the form immediately.

I am not seeing any B2 Visa dates to attend in HYD. What time do I need to check for Visa dates.
