  • I-94 in Port of Entry with Visitor visa

My inlaws have been given visitor visa and they will be travelling to US
shortly. I heard that the officer in Port of Entry can sometimes give I-94
expiry date as 1 month from the date of entry in to usa. Is that true or
do they generally give the I 94 expiry date as six months from the date of
entry in to US for visitor visa. If they give one month, under what
circumstances do they give like that. Please clarify.

Information you have provided for visitor visa was very helpful and I
followed the information give by you to get visa. Thank you very much.

They can give any date they like. Each case is different.

Generally, they can give shorter duration like 1 month if the person is
traveling to the US too much.
