Regarding surname/last name in DS 160

Hello all

I have taken appointment for my parents on 4th March. In DS 160 I have entered my mother's last name/surname as LNU as there was no surname in the passport.

Is it going to cause any problem? I now read that the given name should have been entered in the surname column and the given name should be FNU.

Please clarify.
