Is I-134 required for tourist visa?

I see a lot of threads here mentioning about I-134. Is it really required for sponsoring tourist visa? I do not see any mention about this in VFS site.

I was thinking of sending bank account verification letter and employment letter. (And maybe 1040).

I would like to keep the application simple. So felt better not to overload the immigration officer with too much information.

Here is the list I compiled from VFS site. I do not see any mention of I-134.
Am I missing something?

Application packet to be submitted to VFS

* Copy of the first and last page of your current valid passport.
* One photograph as per specification
* DS-160 Confirmation Barcode printout.
* Original, valid HDFC Bank visa fee receipt.
* Original interview appointment letter.

Additional Supporting Documents required at the time of interview

* Copy of interview appointment letter, DS-160 Confirmation Barcode printout and Original, valid HDFC bank visa fee receipt (Applicant’s Copy).
* Birth certificate
* Carry employer letter and authorized vacation letter with U.S. trip purpose
* Evidence of how trip will be financed along with letters of deputation, invitation.
* May show evidence of financial resources through bank statements and tax returns for past 3 years.
* For parents visiting a child resident in the U.S. :
1) Childs’s original birth certificate.
2) Photocopy of all pages of child’s passport.
3) Where the U.S. visa of child has expired, photocopy of the renewed petition required.

It is really up to you what documents you want to carry. Consulate never specifies the complete list documents you need to present because there is no such thing.

If all the information were readily available on consulate web sites, there would be no reason for web sites like immihelp.com to even exist. And why would you even refer to this web site? Just refer VFS web site.
