  • Should my husband or I sponsor for my parents?

My situation is a bit different from Shyna's thread. I have a similar question.

My husband is a US Citizen and I am a Conditional Green Card Holder. I would like for my parents to visit us next year. I only started working four moths ago.

So, the question at had are:
    1. whether I should sponsor my parents or my husband? does it make difference that i am conditional green card holder?
    2. what is the expected minimum balance in the bank account(s)?
    3. should we show bank balance from our joint accounts or my individual accounts only?

    Thanks for all the hlep,

    Raga

    Hope this helps a little...

Here's my $0.02 worth, gathered from asking and poking around:

    1. I have no idea. Hopefully the admin would have an answer.

    2. The suggested balance is about $5000 per person that you are sponsoring. So, in your case that would be about $10,000.

    3. Every bit helps. So you could show both balances. As well as any other accounts you or your husband hold, individually or jointly.

    Good Luck.

      1. It doesn't really matter. You can do it.
2 & 3 have already been answered correctly.
